#ALMbisyosa Series: The #ALMbisyosa daughter

“The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don’t have to explain things with words.”

My mom loves taking pictures, she wants to capture every moment especially during occasions.  I remember when I was a kid, she would let me change outfits, do some make up, hold the telephone and pretend that I am talking to someone and she will take pictures of me.  So don't wonder why I love posting pictures, with or without occasion, because mana ako sa nanay ko.   But of course, the "heritage" of taking photos will also be passed on...to my lovely daughter..I 'm posting some of her "ARTE photos" here so you will see and just make the judgment!

My letter to Daddy Boy

Dear Dad,

I am and will forever be thankful to God for giving you as our father. You've been a very loving father to all of us and to your APOs. I know that you know how much I love you, and how much you will be missed by our family. Alam mo Dad, you somehow prepared me before you left. From the time you whispered your last words, your goodbye to me, somehow I realize na siguro inadya mo talaga na ako mag-asikaso ng bills, funeral arrangements, death certificates, etc. I really feel sad Daddy, remember you asked me 2 days before you left? "kung okay lang ba ako?" and I said "Yes, Ako pa!" and you replied - "oo kaya mo yan, Matapang k naman" and you kissed me... yun na pala last conversation natin. Also, the next day, niyakap kita but you did not hug me back, I should have been more sensitive, I should have felt that there is something wrong, I could have brought you to hospital earlier. But that's how it is, I think, God has his own reasons and I shouldn't question HIM.

Dad - thank you.. these are the words that I kept saying to you and to myself. Thank you for the LOVE you have shown us, to Mommy and to your Apo's. Please guide our family - especially si Mommy (promise -di ko na sya aawayin), si Kuya Jo, Ate Lhet, Kuya Alex, Kuya Allan, Kuya Arnel at si Karl.

I may not have my own perfect family , but I know that you are proud of me and you support my decision. Salamat dad ha, for always believing in me. Salamat sa lahat. I will not be tired of saying thank you and I Love You even if you're gone.

I still cry when I think of you, ksi Dad, namimiss talaga kita. But I know, the pain will be over soon.

I LOVE YOU DADDY!

My Miguel and UmiZoomi

It's been two months since I last posted here in my blog. I decided to post what happened yesterday, yes - YESTERDAY was a scary day. My baby boy had an accident at home and he was rushed to the hospital. He got wounds in his forehead and it needs to be stitched ---ooooouuuuucccchhhhh!!

I immediately followed to the hospital to check my baby - he looked okay, he's not crying anymore, he was able to play while waiting for the surgeon. But when his Doctor arrived, and started to stitch his wounds, he cried very hard :(

When we went home, I asked Julianne (our househelp) what happened, she said Miguel was watching cartoons when he asked for milk. So the yaya prepared milk and Miguel went off bed and started to jump like Team UmiZoomi..and there...he hit his forehead so bad that cause 4 stitches!

Oh My Miguel...we should stop watching flying characters .... you made mama worry too much...

PASAY City Receives 127 Pneumococcal Vaccines from a MOVE Dance!

As I shared with you a month ago, I am an advocate of children that's why I continue to MOVE. On April 28, GSK Employees, together with doctors and sales team, and Pasay City MOVEd by doing their share in promoting awareness on pneumonia and IPD (Invasive Pneumococcal Disease). Now, 127 children will be saved from the disease, thanks to Glaxo-Smithkline for pioneering this advocacy and continuously supporting the different organizations to help eradicate the disease amongst children.

here's the video of the MOVE dance..

The reason why I MOVE...

You might be asking why I join MOVE events - Step Up Against Pneumonia. It is because, we had someone from our family (my nephew) who is a victim of IPD (Invasive Pneumococcal Disease) and is now suffering from its complication (Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis E). He was just 3months when had pneumonia, then had german measles after a fews days while still in the Hospital. I remembered that we had to do the baptism inside his room, because we've been moving the baptism many times so my sister decided to push thru with it.

My nephew is as young as my daughter (Micaela), they were playmates, they were classmates in Pre-School, they play internet games together, they even danced during Mayca's 6th Birthday - the last dance he did with his cousins, but he did not finish Grade 1 - that is when his body started to deteriorate (physically and mentally). We witnessed how fast he changes, forgetting our names, nadadapa, nabubulol and now he cant speak and even sit on his own. This is really painful especially for my sister. It took us time to find out what the disease is, and how will it be cured.

If there was IPD vaccine available 10 years ago, we could have prevented the disease that my nephew got, an incurable disease :(

That's why I MOVE - and will continue to MOVE to help spread awareness how serious the disease is and it is preventable by a vaccine.
